Assistant in Nursing

The role:

An opportunity has become available for an AIN/3rd year undergraduate nurse to join our Continuum of Care department at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney (SVPHS) in a casual or part time capacity. The role will assist the Registered Nurses with following up our post-operative patients from day surgery procedures via telephone.


As a continuum of partnering with our consumers, a Post-Operative Discharge Phone Call service is provided to assist patients and/or their carer’s with the transition from hospital to home after a day only surgical procedure. This service is an integral part of ensuring that the safety and wellbeing of the patients will extend after they leave St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney (SVPHS). At SVPHS, the follow up of patients after day only procedure of the patients are managed via telephone and recorded in their electronic medical record.


You will bring your passion to the role where you will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team and will have the opportunity to participate in all learning and development activities.


The position available can be flexible for the successful applicant. There is some scope to work around university commitments for the right candidate. The role is required Monday to Friday with shifts of no greater than 6hours required between 9am and 5pm.

As an outstanding AIN/undergraduate nurse in the Continuum of Care team, your skills will include:

• Skills in communication, customer service, cultural and situational awareness

Essential requirements:

• Currently enrolled in Bachelor Of Nursing program
  
• Have excellent written & verbal communication skills
  
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service
  
• Computer literacy and ability and capacity to work with Electronic Medical Records
  
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  
• Strong committed team player with ability to work autonomously
  
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  

REMUNERATION:
Classification/Grade: $26.31 - 31.57 + salary packaging + superannuation based on experience level and relevant qualifications, exclusive of shift penalties or allowances
