We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to step into an Assistant Unit Leader role and help shape the future of radiotherapy delivery. This rare and exciting opportunity is based in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast's leading health precinct, on a full-time, permanent basis.
As a key member of the radiation therapy leadership team, you will partner with the Unit Leader to drive clinical excellence, support service delivery, and foster a high-performing, patient-centred culture. Clinical Practice
- Lead by example, setting the standard for safe, accurate, and compassionate patient care.
- Support excellence in planning, simulation, and treatment delivery.
- Champion best practice, quality, and continuous improvement across the service.
- Share expertise and develop clinical capability within the team.
Leadership
- Partner with the Unit Leader to support service delivery and key departmental initiatives.
- Act as the radiation therapy lead in the absence of the Unit Leader.
- Build team capability through coaching, mentoring, and performance development.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
- Build strong relationships with doctors and key stakeholders to support exceptional patient outcomes.
Compliance & Quality
- Support clinical, safety, and operational standards across the department.
- Ensure training, competencies, and compliance requirements are maintained.
- Contribute to quality improvement, risk management, and accreditation activities.
We're Interested in Hearing from People Who Have
- Advanced technical competence across contemporary radiation therapy platforms.
- Experience with Varian Linear Accelerators (desirable).
- Demonstrated leadership capability and a passion for developing others.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A commitment to clinical excellence, patient-centred care, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Radiation Therapy.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Radiation Therapist.
