About the Role

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will assist the NUM to manage, maintain and promote the professional standards of Nursing Practice, whilst managing the operational resources of the Unit. Directly reporting and liaising with NUM, the ANUM will be responsible for providing mentoring and leadership to the Nursing Profession in the Emergency department.



Classifications for this position will range between YW11 - YW12 ($106,834.00 - $110,432.10 per annum pro rata).



Duties

• Lead and direct nursing staff to ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in accordance with the Values and Heath Care Philosophy of the Sisters of Charity
• Support the NUM with the daily running of the ward including bed management, staff management and attending relevant meetings
• Act as a clinical role model by providing the highest standard of direct patient care
• Implement and support organisational change as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager
• Ensure incidents are accurately documented and investigated at the time of the incident and the Nurse Unit Manager is informed

Your Contribution

• Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Current APHRA practicing certificate
• Experience in relevant area of clinical practice
• Advanced clinical nursing skills
• Leadership qualities with proven ability to direct, enthuse and encourage a multidisciplinary team

8 West is a 24 bed unit compromising of 20 acute medical beds (including 6 cardiac monitored) and 4 ACE beds. 8 West upholds strong values of providing high quality care to our patients and excellent communication between all health professionals from all disciplines. All staff on 8West are required to actively participate in their own professional development and self-directed learning in order to maintain high quality clinical skills and knowledge.
