This clinical role is ideal for a passionate oncology nurse who thrives on leadership, collaboration, and making a real difference for patients and families.

As a Cancer Nurse Consultant, you’ll provide individualised, evidence-based care throughout the cancer journey, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support both clinical and psychosocial needs. You’ll act as an expert clinician and key contact for patients, develop comprehensive care plans, and build strong relationships with referrers and external providers to ensure seamless care.

You’ll also contribute to quality improvement, research, and service planning, advancing best-practice oncology nursing at state and national levels.

More Specifically you will be:

• Deliver comprehensive assessments and develop tailored care management plans for patients with complex needs.
• Act as a central point of contact for patients, families, staff and external health services
• Provide expert education and advice to patients, carers and healthcare professionals
• Lead and contribute to nursing education, best-practice reviews and innovation
• Support the implementation and evaluation of new treatments, technologies and care models.
• Initiate and apply research findings to improve clinical practice.
• Lead or contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.

About you
You are a highly experienced oncology nurse with a strong commitment to excellence, collaboration and patient-centred care. You bring credibility, compassion and confidence to your clinical leadership.

You will have:

• Registration as a Nurse with AHPRA.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in oncology nursing.
• Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in Oncology Nursing, Advanced Nursing or similar.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to coordinate care across the cancer care journey.
• Strong experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders.
