Care to join the team?
As the Patient Services Officer, you'll be responsible for providing administrative and general support to staff, patients and clinicians to ensure that a high quality, professional and efficient administration service is consistently provided to patients. This is a casual position, based within our North Adelaide clinic, with a need to attend other sites as required.
More specifically, you will:
Ensure a high level of patient service is provided including meeting patient needs, maintaining patient service levels and monitoring and reacting to patient feedback. Consistently maintain a professional service which meets patient needs. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Support patient billing and payment discussions with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
- Provide high level support to Doctors and other key stakeholders
- Monitor patient flow throughout the clinic, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience
- Promptly and courteously manage all incoming telephone inquiries
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of clinic services to effectively respond to patient questions
- Schedule doctor consultations, balancing availability with clinical priorities
- Coordinate all requirements to support successful doctor clinic visits
- Manage incoming correspondence, including scanning, sorting, and appropriately actioning documents
We’re interested in hearing from people who:
- Experienced in administrative roles within fast-paced, customer-focused settings, ideally within healthcare.
- Knowledgeable in patient billing processes and Medicare funding pathways.
- Confident in managing urgent matters and coordinating time-sensitive medical appointments with efficiency and care.
- Highly organised and articulate, with strong communication skills to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Able to work autonomously while thriving in collaborative team environments.
- Proficient in clinical administration software and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Committed to fostering a positive and collaborative team culture, aligned with organisational values.
- Adaptable and open to varied responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
