About the Role

Do you have a sharp eye for detail and a passion for accuracy? We’re looking for a Clinical Coder to join our supportive and collaborative Health Information Services team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring high-quality clinical data by abstracting and coding patient records using ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classifications.

You’ll report to the Victorian HIS Operations Manager and work in an environment that values learning, teamwork, and professional growth.



Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Accurately and efficiently code patient separations using ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and Australian Coding Standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to gather information for precise coding.
  • Manage and prioritise your workload effectively.
  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and quality improvement activities.

About You



You’re organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a process-driven role. You bring:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Health Information Management OR Certificate IV/Diploma in Clinical Classification.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years coding in an acute setting with varied casemix.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Coding Standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and time management.
  • Great communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with coding software and Hospital PMI systems (e.g., Solventum Codefinder, WebPAS)
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements.
