The Opportunity
As Clinical Director, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership to the Anaesthetics Department, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative services across the Wide Bay region. You will play a key role in:

• Leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary anaesthetic team
• Driving service development, innovation, and workforce planning
• Implementing contemporary models of care
• Supporting quality improvement, governance, and clinical audit activities
• Working collaboratively with executive leadership and surgical services
• Contributing to the continued growth of regional specialist services

Candidate Profile
We are interested in speaking with senior Specialist Anaesthetists who demonstrate:

• Strong clinical leadership and governance experience
• Commitment to quality improvement and service development
• Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
• Experience working within complex hospital environments
• Eligibility for specialist registration in Australia

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should possess:

• A primary medical qualification recognised by the Medical Board of Australia and eligibility for registration with AHPRA
• Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), or an equivalent specialist qualification recognised by the Australian Medical Council
• Current compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements and good professional standing
• Overseas-trained Anaesthetists progressing through the ANZCA Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) pathway MUST have substantial comparability.
• Candidates who have completed specialist training and are awaiting specialist registration
• Senior clinicians able to demonstrate substantial comparability and progression toward Fellowship
