An exciting role, to drive the integrity and accuracy of clinical information
The Clinical Documentation Specialist is an integral member of the established Cabrini Health Clinical Documentation Improvement Program. If you love working with people and are passionate about clinical information, accuracy, detail and ensuring performance improvement then this role is for you.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Utilise advanced clinical knowledge to support and promote high-quality clinical documentation practices.
- Engage and educate clinicians on best practice documentation standards and improvement strategies.
- Provide practical documentation guidance, tips, and techniques tailored for clinicians working in busy clinical environments.
- Actively promote and embed documentation improvement initiatives across clinical teams.
- Partner with Health Information Services, Health Funding Compliance, and other hospital departments to support accurate and compliant documentation practices.
What we’re looking for:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications – Health Information Management or Nursing (Critical Care or other Post Graduate course, highly regarded) with experience in complex care needs, casemix management, episodic funding or documentation improvement or similar - current AHPRA registration where relevant
- Recent private health sector experience, knowledge of current funding payment models and contractual arrangements in a medium to large organisation
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology/pathology of disease processes
- Highly developed understanding of Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking/analytical skills with high level of attention to detail
