About the Role

The BETRS Clinical Lead is a key leadership role within a specialist eating disorder service, supporting a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. Working closely with the Program Manager and Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical leadership, guide best-practice treatment, and support clinicians to achieve meaningful outcomes for consumers within the program.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician with expertise in eating disorders to step into a senior clinical leadership role while remaining actively involved in clinical care. The role also provides the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the BETRS program and support best-practice eating disorder treatment within a specialist mental health service.

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight across assessments, key worker sessions, Day Program modules and individual therapies.
  • Monitor consumer progress and ensuring treatment aligns with evidence-based eating disorder treatment guidelines.
  • Support clinicians through clinical supervision, mentorship and discipline-specific guidance.
  • Liaise with the Austin Eating Disorders Unit regarding intake and coordination of consumers requiring admission.
  • Monitor program activity and team performance to support achievement of activity-based funding targets.
  • Deliver education and training in evidence-based eating disorder treatments to staff and stakeholders.
  • Support effective collaboration across services and ensuring continuity of care for consumers transitioning between services.

Classifications for this position will range from:

  • OT/SW Grade 3 YB24 - YB27 or YC46 - YC49 ($101,597 - $116,074 per annum pro rata)




Your Contribution

You will be an experienced mental health clinician with strong leadership capability and a passion for delivering high-quality care for people experiencing eating disorders.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and supporting staff to achieve program outcomes.
  • Significant clinical experience working within eating disorder programs.
  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Mental Health Nursing, with current registration (where applicable) and eligibility for professional membership.
  • Extensive post-graduate mental health experience (typically 7+ years for OT/SW and 5+ years for RPN).
  • Strong leadership, supervision and mentoring skills, with the ability to support service improvement and change.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in program development, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
  • A commitment to recovery-oriented practice and ongoing professional development.
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain, and a current driver’s licence.
