The Opportunity
Working alongside the Clinical Director Womens & Childrens Services, you will provide clinical and strategic leadership across Obstetrics and Gynaecology while continuing to deliver specialist care.
You will have the opportunity to influence the future direction of the service, support workforce and service development, mentor junior doctors and trainees, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

The Opportunity
Working alongside the Clinical Director Womens & Childrens Services, you will provide clinical and strategic leadership across Obstetrics and Gynaecology while continuing to deliver specialist care.
You will have the opportunity to influence the future direction of the service, support workforce and service development, mentor junior doctors and trainees, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
The established O&G service offers:
- Approximately 1,000 births annually
- Level 4 maternity service
- Level 4 neonatal service
- 8-bed Intensive Care Unit
- Experienced midwifery workforce and highly regarded Midwifery Group Practice
- Established antenatal and gynaecology services
- Gynaecological surgery including laparoscopy and colposcopy
- RANZCOG-accredited training positions, including FRANZCOG core trainees
- Advanced Proceduralist trainees
- Strong teaching and continuing professional development culture
- Close links with the University of Tasmania Rural Clinical School
- Approximately 1:5 after-hours on-call roster

Depending on eligibility and appointment level, additional benefits include:

We would particularly like to hear from experienced Obstetricians & Gynaecologists with:
- Specialist qualifications in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Broad contemporary O&G experience
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary team skills
- An interest in clinical leadership, education and service development
- Specialist registration with Ahpra, or eligibility to obtain appropriate Australian medical registration
