This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the Cancer Services team at The Mater Hospital. This position sits alongside existing McGrath Breast Care Nurses. It is a fixed term contract (full time) for 1 year with a view to extend.

Applications are sought from suitably qualified Registered Nurse with previous Breast Care Nursing experience to work in Cancer Services at the Mater Hospital.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Application of advanced breast cancer knowledge and skills.
  • Care coordination for people diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • Promotion of multidisciplinary breast cancer care.
  • Patient focused supportive care.
  • Act as a breast cancer resource person.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Qualifications in cancer nursing - breast care qualification or working towards.
  • Proven experience as a registered nurse working with cancer patients and families/carers.
  • High-level awareness of applying advanced knowledge of health needs, preferences, and circumstances of women with breast cancer to optimise outcomes across the continuum of care.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of theory and recent research relevant to the field of breast cancer nursing.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and a team-oriented approach.
