About the role

Are you an experienced orthopaedic theatre nurse who enjoys working in a professional team within a quality and caring environment? This role offers the opportunity to lead a team giving first class care and offering the opportunity to work with experienced surgeons creating strong clinical relationships.

This role is a full-time permanent position working Mon – Fri. You will have support of a second clinical lead in this role and will have 5-10 registered nurses reporting in to you.

What you have to do

Key duties and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing leadership and clinical supervision to team members
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of the various speciality lines and maintaining the highest standards of patient care during surgical procedures
  • Managing resources, supporting staff performance and ensuring the smooth running of the department
  • Providing first rate customer service and maintaining excellent relationships with specialists

Skills and Experience

  • A current NZ nursing practising certificate and a minimum Level 3 PDRP or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post registration operating rooms scrub / circulate experience in orthopaedics
  • Proven leadership experience in a nursing management role involving direction, delegation and people management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a pro-active attitude
