About the Role
We are seeking a Consultant / Specialist Anaesthetist to provide high-quality clinical anaesthetic and perioperative care across a broad range of surgical specialties. The role also includes intermittent outreach, supporting equitable access to specialist services across the region.
As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will:
  • Deliver specialist anaesthetic services across adult, paediatric and obstetric case-mix
  • Work across diverse surgical specialties; thoracic and vascular experience is highly regarded
  • Participate in a shared on-call roster
  • Provide intermittent outreach support within the regional network
  • Supervise and mentor Anaesthetic Registrars, HMOs, nursing staff and allied professionals
  • Contribute to clinical governance, research and service development
  • Participate in ongoing review and continuous improvement of clinical practice

Skills & Experience
You will bring:
  • FANZCA or equivalent specialist qualification, with specialist registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA
  • A medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Experience providing anaesthetic services in a regional or tertiary environment
  • Broad clinical expertise across adult, paediatric and obstetric anaesthesia
  • Thoracic and vascular anaesthesia experience (desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective multidisciplinary relationships
