You will provide high-quality specialist services in:
The health service manages approximately 14,000 procedures annually and provides most surgical specialties, excluding cardiac surgery. The caseload includes significant emergency and trauma activity, complex obstetrics and approximately 15% paediatric work.
The service is supported by an 18-bed Intensive Care Unit with ECMO capability and a Level 5 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The hospital also has a nationally recognised role in trauma, critical-care and disaster-response medicine.
Specialists are encouraged to participate in education, clinical governance, service development, research, quality and safety, sustainability and staff wellbeing. Teaching opportunities are available across a broad trainee population, including anaesthetic registrars, Provisional Fellows, GP Anaesthetic trainees, critical-care trainees, junior doctors and medical students.
Requirements
Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA.
Applicants should hold Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists who have been assessed by ANZCA as substantially comparable
