The department comprises Staff Specialists, Visiting Consultants, Provisional Fellows and Registrars, delivering comprehensive services across anaesthesia, perioperative medicine and acute pain management.

The opportunity
You will provide safe, patient-centred and evidence-based specialist care while contributing to the ongoing development of contemporary anaesthetic and perioperative services.
Both permanent full-time and part-time appointments are available, with flexibility across various employment fractions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering high-quality anaesthetic, perioperative and acute pain services
• Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
• Participating in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision
• Contributing to clinical research, audit and quality-improvement activities
• Supporting innovation and the development of services and models of care
• Participating in the after-hours on-call and recall roster
• Contributing specialist expertise while maintaining a broad clinical workload

Subspecialty interests are encouraged. Experience in perioperative medicine or cardiac anaesthesia would be particularly valued.

About you
To be considered, you will have:

• A recognised medical degree
• Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or eligibility for specialist registration as an anaesthetist with AHPRA
• A strong commitment to safe, patient-centred clinical care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively within a complex and evolving multidisciplinary environment
• An interest in teaching, research, clinical governance and service improvement
• A professional, collaborative and team-focused approach

Remuneration and benefits
An attractive remuneration package and employment conditions are available under the applicable certified agreement. After-hours on-call and recall duties are remunerated in addition to the base salary.
Specialist international medical graduates who are eligible for specialist registration in Australia are encouraged to enquire. Must be ANZCA assessed as substantially comparable or eligible via expedited pathway.
