About the Role
As a Palliative Care Consultant, you will:
- Provide specialist clinical leadership across inpatient, community and consultative palliative care services.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to quality, safety and holistic patient support.
- Offer education, supervision and mentorship to junior doctors and medical staff.
- Support service development, innovation and continuous improvement aligned with SMHS strategic goals.
- Contribute to performance, accreditation and clinical governance standards across the service.

We are seeking experienced specialists who are:
- Committed to compassionate, patient-centred palliative care
- Strong multidisciplinary communicators
- Collaborative team players
- Driven to improve service outcomes and quality
- Supportive mentors and educators
- Fellowship of an appropriate medical college (e.g. FRACP Palliative Medicine, FAChPM, or equivalent).
- Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA.
