As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide senior clinical care and leadership within a multidisciplinary, recovery-focused environment committed to trauma-informed and rights-based practice.
The service is nationally recognised for leadership in Least Restrictive Care and has eliminated seclusion practices across inpatient settings. From 2026, services will transition into a new state-of-the-art university hospital facility.

The Role
As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide senior clinical care and leadership within a multidisciplinary, recovery-focused environment committed to trauma-informed and rights-based practice.
The service is nationally recognised for leadership in Least Restrictive Care and has eliminated seclusion practices across inpatient settings. From 2026, services will transition into a new state-of-the-art university hospital facility.
You will:
- Provide expert psychiatric assessment and treatment within Adult Inpatient Services
- Lead and supervise junior and senior medical staff
- Contribute to service development, policy and clinical governance
- Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Promote collaborative, person-centred and family-inclusive care
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP)
- Current Medical Practitioner Registration in Australia
- Demonstrated specialist clinical experience
- Experience in clinical leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Strong commitment to evidence-based, contemporary psychiatric practice
- Understanding of quality, safety and governance frameworks
- Work within an innovative, recovery-oriented service
