Counsellor

About the Opportunity:

Due to the continued growth of our service and increasing demand, an exciting opportunity has become available for an additional Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane.

This role is integral to supporting patients with life-limiting illness, along with their families and carers, through the provision of high-quality, compassionate counselling services. You will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver holistic care that addresses emotional, psychological, and psychosocial needs across the patient journey.

Things that work for us:

  • Ability to work on a maximum term part time basis (22.8 hours per week)
  • Proven experience in grief and loss, bereavement, and/or palliative care (essential)
  • Master's in counselling (essential)
  • Commitment to professional development and quality assurance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport in sensitive situations
  • Flexible approach and the ability to respond to a changing environment
  • Uphold and promote the goals and vision of the Hospital
  • Personally model, articulate and integrate mission and values of SVPHB into the work environment
  • A desire to acquire and/or continue formal Counselling qualifications
