About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Residential Aged Care Services (RACS), the Deputy Operations Manager supports the effective operational management of SVHM Residential Aged Care Services, including Berengarra, Auburn House and Prague House. The role is responsible for assisting in the coordination of service delivery, workforce management, quality and safety systems, financial performance, and continuous improvement activities across the residential aged care portfolio. The Deputy Operations Manager (DOM) provides direct leadership and management to the RACS Lifestyle and Administration Teams and acts as the key liaison with Allied Health services to support coordinated, person-centred care and resident wellbeing outcomes. The role works collaboratively with Clinical Managers, the Director of Nursing, Business Manager, Allied Health professionals and broader multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe, person-centred, high-quality care that meets all legislative, regulatory, accreditation and organisational requirements. The DOM acts on behalf of the Operations Manager as delegated and provides operational leadership to support service excellence, staff engagement, and achievement of strategic and operational objectives.

Classifications for this position will range from Grade 5 Allied Health OR for Nursing (ZB7) ($150,000 - 160,000 per annum plus super).

Your Contribution

• Support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day operational management of Residential Aged Care Services.​
• Provide direct line management and oversight of the Lifestyle and Administration Teams, ensuring effective delivery of resident lifestyle and wellbeing programs and administration functions.
• Acts as the key liaison between the service and Allied Health (AH) teams, facilitating communication, coordination of care and collaborative service planning.
• Act on behalf of the Operations Manager as delegated, including participation in relevant meetings, committees and service reviews.
• Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of operational plans and improvement initiatives.
• You will hold current AHPRA registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, without notations on the register, and a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or be willing to undergo an NDIS Worker Screening Check.

About St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne's Residential Aged Care Service

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) operates three Residential Aged Care Services (RACS) facilities: Berengarra, Auburn House, and Prague House, collectively providing permanent and respite care for 165 residents. These services encompass mainstream aged care, psychogeriatric care, and specialist programs for individuals with mental health diagnoses, acquired brain injuries and / or a history of homelessness. All facilities are registered NDIS providers. The role is primarily based at St George’s Health Service (SGHS) in Kew, with responsibilities across campuses and aged care sites.

Residential Aged Care Services (RACS) sits within the Continuing Care Program at SVHM, which also includes Subacute Services (Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Palliative Care Services), Bed Based Transition Care, Community Services (HIP, ACAS, GP Liaison) and Healthcare for the Homeless Program.
