The Director of Emergency Medicine provides strategic, clinical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred emergency care.
Working closely with executive leadership, you will lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team, strengthen clinical capability, and support the ongoing development of emergency medicine services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care
- Overseeing clinical governance, quality, safety and risk management
- Managing workforce planning, recruitment, rostering and performance of medical staff
- Driving service improvement, innovation and patient-flow optimisation
- Building strong partnerships with internal teams, regional services and external stakeholders
- Supporting education, training and professional development across the department
We are seeking a collaborative, motivated and visionary Emergency Medicine leader.
You will have:
- MBBS or equivalent, with full AHPRA registration
- Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent
- Extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, including leadership within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead change, improve systems and achieve operational outcomes
- A commitment to patient-centred care, quality improvement and clinical excellence
