As Director of Paediatrics, you will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across paediatric services at the Hospital and the wider region. You will oversee inpatient and outpatient care, neonatal services, community programs, and outreach clinics while working closely with retrieval teams to support critically unwell children.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a multidisciplinary paediatric team (Specialists, Developmental Paediatrician, Registrars, Intern)
- Driving service development, innovation, and high-quality patient care
- Overseeing departmental resources, workforce planning, and clinical governance
- Providing clinical education and supervision to registrars, rural generalist trainees, IMGs, and medical students
- Engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure culturally safe care
- Contributing to research, safety and quality initiatives, and continuous service improvement

We are seeking a Paediatrician who demonstrates:
- FRACP or equivalent specialist qualification recognised in Australia
- Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- High-level paediatric skills across acute, neonatal, and community settings
- Ability to work independently in a regional/remote environment
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Experience in teaching, supervision, and quality improvement
- Commitment to culturally safe healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
