Nursing Australia is looking for a Disability Support Worker who has experience working with participants with severe intellectual disability , autism spectrum disorder and epliepsy .
You will be supporting a young female who lives at home with their parents .
They will require someone exceptional who will be able to engage with them to help them focus and provide them with ongoing interaction and attention throughout the day.
The participant does have challenging behaviours and PBSP training will be provided on how to best support them.
Nursing Australia is looking for someone who likes games and interactive play and has the energy and enthusiasm to support this participant in their home and in the community .
Key responsibilities :
- Personal Care
- Social Outings
- Community Access
- 1:1 support
- Medication administration
- Meal prep
- Domestic assistance
Available shifts:
- 1800-2200 + Sleepover + 0600-10:15
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Potential for more shifts
Essential Requirements:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
- Current National Criminal Record Check
- Certificate III or IV in Disability/ Individual support /Aged Care
- Current First Aid Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation module
- Minimum of 6 months full time experience working in Disability
- Experience in Austim , Epilepsy and challenging behaiours
- Medication competency (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable nature
