Permanent Part Time position (2-3 shifts per week) | Cabrini Malvern location

About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Emergency Department Clerk to play a key role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our 24/7 Emergency Department. Working night shifts (a minimum of 2-3 per week), you will be at the frontline of patient care, helping to ensure every patient’s journey begins with a positive and professional experience. Shift times are between 9:15pm-7:15am and 9:30pm-7:30am.

This essential role involves a variety of administrative responsibilities, including:

  • Accurately registering patients, collecting required information and processing payments
  • Supporting patient admissions and discharge processes
  • Maintaining accurate, confidential patient records and submitting online Medicare claims
  • Reception and switchboard coverage where required
  • Collaborating closely with clinical staff to enable seamless patient care


What you will bring to the role
You are a customer-focused professional who takes pride in creating a warm and welcoming experience for patients. Along with your strong service mindset, you will have:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a healthcare setting; knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence in quickly learning new systems and processes
  • A high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • The ability to multitask, prioritise effectively and remain organised in a fast-paced environment
