Grade 2 Geriatric Evaluation and Management Physiotherapist

About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for a Grade 2 physiotherapist to join the physiotherapy department. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high quality, overall physiotherapy management to the Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) patients of the Kew campus of St George’s Hospital. The role is also responsible for supervision of students, Grade 1 staff, and Allied Health Assistants and taking a leadership role within the department and other duties as directed/delegated. The SGH GEM Grade2 will also be responsible for service delivery to one or more residential care facilities operated by SVHM.

Applications from current grade two physiotherapists or suitably experienced grade one physiotherapists will be considered. Relevant postgraduate qualifications would also be highly regarded.

Must have, or be currently eligible for, National Physiotherapist Registration.

Classifications for this position will range from VB1 – VB4 ($86,730 - $99,699 per annum, pro rata).

Duties include

  • Provide appropriate clinical management for all Geriatric Evaluation and Management patients
  • Assessment, planning and treatment including education for all Geriatric Evaluation and Management patients
  • Communicate assessment and treatment outcomes to nursing, medical and other Allied Health staff via documentation and handovers.
  • Clinical supervision and teaching of physiotherapy students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, as required
  • Develop and promote new initiatives regarding service provision

Your Contribution

  • Recent experience in and knowledge of physiotherapy management in an subacute health care setting, particularly Geriatric Evaluation and Management
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of and commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Experience with student supervision
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Current national criminal history check, or willing to obtain
