About the Role
Join our experienced Speech Pathology team as a Grade 3 Speech Pathologist (in a permanent capacity 4 days per week) and provide advanced clinical care across our non-admitted services. This senior role encompasses a diverse caseload across Aged Care and our specialist outpatient Swallow Clinic, delivering expert assessment and management of adults with complex communication and swallowing disorders. You will provide advanced dysphagia assessment and management, including the use of instrumental swallowing assessments such as Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Studies (VFSS) and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), alongside comprehensive care for older adults across St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s unique public aged care.
As a senior clinician, you will provide clinical leadership through mentoring and supervision, contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, person-centered care. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Speech Pathologist looking to influence clinical practice, support workforce development, and improve outcomes for adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
Classifications for this position will range from classification range VW6 - VW9 ($104,135.20 - $118,981.20) per annum, pro rata for part time).
Your Contribution
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), or Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent
- Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and commitment to Speech Pathology Australia’s Code of Ethics
- At least 7 years’ experience in adult Speech Pathology
- Extensive experience in Speech Pathology management of patients with disorders of communication and swallowing in a hospital setting
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
