About the role
Deliver exceptional care to families and their infants throughout the birthing process and postpartum within a 44-bed facility. Collaborate and communicate seamlessly with a skilled Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) comprised of midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Customize assistance and services for each family according to their individual preferences and birth plans. Demonstrate flexibility by participating in rotational shifts as part of the team
- Develop and implement care plans, as well as facilitate referrals
- Administer pain relief interventions
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for specialized expertise when needed
- Prioritize and uphold safety protocols consistently
- Monitor and document observations while effectively managing any identified risks or complications, escalating as necessary
Skills and Experience
• Hold a current registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand
• Have prior experience in women’s health, intrapartum, post partum and antenatal
• Good communication skills, both written and verbally
• Able to work collaboratively in a MDT
• Have a genuine passion to work within a birthing setting
