About the Role
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), will manage, maintain and promote the professional standards of Nursing Practice within the Specialist Clinics. The NUM will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the Unit achieves its targets and key Unit performance indicators. The NUM will manage the operational resources of the Unit having regard to the organisational objectives, policies and procedures.

• Provide clinical and professional leadership to the Specialist Clinics team
• Responsible for the Specialist Clinics workforce planning, development and performance.
• Work closely with the Clerical Team Leader, Telehealth Team and Specialist Clinics Operations manager to meet organisational key performance indicators and Department of Health access policy targets.
• Responsible for the nursing team, recruitment and oversee performance management and general support.
• Responsible for the Case Coordination team recruitment, performance management and general support.
  

Classifications for this position will range from NM11 - NM12 ($126,074 - $130,509.60 per annum pro rata)

Your Contribution

• Degree of Nursing, which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
• Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through AHPRA
• Minimum of 3 years postgraduate acute nursing experience in a management role
• Knowledge and experience in a clinicial environment
• Understanding of waiting list and discharge planning principles in relation to non admitted services
• A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead our Specialist Clinics, which provide over 250,000 patient appointments annually across 22 specialties and receive 85,000 new referrals each year.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing nursing standards, ensuring safe and high-quality care, and driving operational excellence. The NUM will mentor and support nursing teams, collaborate with medical and administrative leaders, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
