About the role:
We’re currently seeking a Nurse Unit Manger to join our fast-paced perioperative team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Nurse Unit Manager with a background in a Perioperative environment to lead this high performing team providing your strong and operational leadership expertise. We’re looking for a leader that drives patient centred care whilst providing a supportive and encouraging environment for your all your staff. Reporting to our Assistant Director of Procedural Services you’ll work collaboratively with our Perioperative leadership team to ensure the delivery of clinical standards and quality patient outcomes within this dynamic and supportive Theatre environment.

Our hospital has 227 beds, 9 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter laboratories, a 17-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Day Oncology Unit, Breast Health Centre, Endoscopy Unit, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and a 24-hour, private emergency centre provided by Brisbane Northside Emergency.
Our specialties include breast health, cancer care, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and orthopaedics.

Things that work for us:
- Registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a Registered Nurse
- Post-graduate qualifications in leadership - desired
- Post-graduate qualifications in perioperative nursing - desired
- Clinical expertise in the theatre speciality scrub/scout with at least 5 year’s in an acute tertiary hospital - essential
- Demonstrated leadership in managing high performance teams
- Exceptional organisational and coordination skills
- Demonstrated participation in education activities·
- Demonstrated success in achievement of organisational targets in resource management, work hours, budgeting, bed management/utilisation, absenteeism/workforce planning, safety and management of labour costs
- Experience in providing advanced clinical care consistent with the mission and philosophy of the facility
