• Team structure: consultants, registrars, junior medical staff, midwives, nurses, allied health and administrative/support staff.
• Clinical services: obstetrics, antenatal and postnatal care, labour and birth, gynaecology, emergency care, surgery, outpatient services and specialist/high-risk services.
• Role of the team:multidisciplinary team that works together to provide safe, patient-centred care.
• Teaching and research:department works closely with the University of Tasmania and has a role in training medical students, junior doctors and specialist trainees.
• Referral role: RHH provides tertiary and specialist care for patients from across Tasmania, including complex cases referred from other hospitals.
• Community focus:the team contributes to equitable access, improved maternal and women's health outcomes, and the broader health needs of the Tasmanian community.
• Workplace culture: leadership, collaboration, communication, professional development and support for staff.

The role

• Provide high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care
• Assess and manage patients across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Participate in emergency, theatre and on-call services
• Support teaching, supervision and multidisciplinary teamwork
• Contribute to quality improvement, research and clinical governance

Skills and Experience

• Medical degree and current AHPRA registration
• Relevant obstetrics and gynaecology clinical experience
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and teaching
• Ability to participate in on-call and emergency services as required
