Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist)

GenesisCare is seeking a warm, proactive and highly organised Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist) to join our dedicated team on a permanent full-time basis at our Darlinghurst clinic, located within the St Vincent’s Hospital campus.

In this pivotal role, you will support patients throughout their cancer care journey as their first point of contact. This is a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities, so your ability to respond with efficiency, empathy and professionalism will be essential.

More specifically, you will:

  • Deliver efficient administrative support in a fast-paced environment where patient experience is the priority.
  • Welcome patients as their first point of contact and provide outstanding customer service in person and over the phone.
  • Adapt confidently to changing demands and competing priorities.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and consultations.
  • Manage billing and receipting at the time of appointment.
  • Complete accurate data entry and process required documentation.
  • Support the smooth day‑to‑day operations of the clinic.
  • Communicate regularly with the broader team to ensure seamless workflows.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure timely filing of patient notes.

  • A demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent patient care and customer service.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • A professional phone manner and experience managing a high volume of enquiries.
  • High attention to detail and strong time‑management capabilities.
