Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist)

At GenesisCare, we know that every patient’s experience is unique. We're looking for a compassionate and professional Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist) to join our team at GenesisCare Mater, located within Mater Hospital.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring the smooth day to day coordination of appointments, referrals, and administrative services within our Radiation Oncology centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.

This is a permanent part time position, working 2 days per week.

More specifically, you will:

• Welcome patients, families, and visitors with professionalism and warmth.
• Coordinate appointments, manage clinician diaries, and respond to enquiries.
• Receive and process referrals accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and maintain patient records and administrative documentation.
• Support billing, fee estimates, Medicare processing, and private health fund transactions.
• Liaise with clinicians and the wider care team to support daily operations.
• Ensure a high standard of customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Experience in administration, medical reception, or a customer service role.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• A caring and empathetic approach when interacting with patients and families.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Confidence using computer systems and learning new technology.
• Previous healthcare experience is highly regarded but not essential.
