Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist)

At GenesisCare, we know that every patient's experience is unique. We're looking for a compassionate and professional Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist) to join our team, providing support across our Mater Hospital, Frenchs Forest and North Shore Health Hub Radiation Oncology centres.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment while helping to coordinate appointments, referrals, and administrative services across multiple sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.

This is a Casual position, providing flexible support across our Mater Hospital, Frenchs Forest and North Shore Health Hub locations.

More specifically, you will:

• Welcome patients, families, and visitors with professionalism, empathy, and warmth.
• Coordinate appointments, manage clinician diaries, and respond to patient enquiries.
• Receive, process, and manage referrals accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and maintain patient records and administrative documentation.
• Support billing activities, fee estimates, Medicare processing, and private health fund transactions.
• Liaise with clinicians and multidisciplinary team members to support daily operations.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Adapt to working across multiple sites and support operational needs as required.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Experience in administration, medical reception, healthcare, or customer service environments.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for helping others.
• A caring, empathetic, and professional approach when interacting with patients and their families.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy and dynamic environment.
• Confidence using computer systems and the willingness to learn new technologies.
• Flexibility to work across multiple locations and adapt to changing business needs.
• Previous healthcare experience is highly regarded but not essential.
