We are seeking compassionate, reliable and adaptable Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to support our nursing teams across a range of acute inpatient specialties.
As part of our flexible Bank workforce, you'll have the opportunity to work across various clinical areas with shifts available across AM, PM and Night Duty, including evening shifts such as 4:00 pm–12:00 am and 6:00 pm–2:00 am.
About the Role
Working alongside nursing staff, you will help deliver safe, high-quality patient care by assisting with:
- Personal care including hygiene, dressing, feeding and toileting
- Patient mobility, transfers and manual handling
- Patient observation and routine care
- Maintaining a safe and organised ward environment
- Supporting patient flow and ward operations
- Providing compassionate, patient-centred care within multidisciplinary teams
About You
You are caring, flexible and enjoy working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Essential:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, Individual Support or equivalent; or
- Current Nursing Student (Year 2 or above) with completed acute clinical placement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across a variety of clinical areas
- Understanding of patient dignity, confidentiality and safe care principles
- Availability to work a 24/7 roster
Desirable:
- Acute hospital experience
- Experience across multiple specialties
- Knowledge of infection prevention and manual handling
- Experience using electronic hospital systems
