Pharmacist Grade 2

St Vincent's Hospital

  • Grade 2 Clinical Trials Pharmacist
  • 2 x Full Time positions available
  • 1 x Part Time / Permanent position – 16 hours per week

About the Role

This role will support the use of Clinical Trial and Investigational Medicines at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne through the day-to-day management and delivery of clinical trial pharmacy services. Working primarily within the Cancer Clinical Trials team, you will also provide leave coverage for the non-cancer clinical trials team. You will work closely with senior clinical trials pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and multidisciplinary research teams to ensure the safe and effective delivery of clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management of clinical trials, including dispensing, drug accountability and investigational medicine preparation.
  • Participate in clinical trial training, quality improvement and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist the Grade 3 Cancer Clinical Trials Pharmacist with the set-up and closure of clinical trials.
  • Assist with billing and financial reporting for clinical trials under the supervision of senior clinical trials pharmacists.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians working within clinical trials.
  • Act as the pharmacy representative on the Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) on a rotational basis.
  • Provide clinical research knowledge, expertise and support across the Pharmacy Department.
  • Contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-focused clinical trial pharmacy services.

Classification: SX2–SX5 ($94,478.80 - $106,906.80 per annum, pro rata for part time).

Your Contribution

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA.
  • Previous clinical trials pharmacy experience (essential).
  • Cancer pharmacy experience (preferred).
  • A current National Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain one.

St Vincent's Hospital Pharmacy Department provides decentralised pharmacy services from several satellite pharmacies located within patient treatment areas. We provide pharmacy services to inpatients, outpatients and correctional facilities.
