Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner

THE ROLE

As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in assisting individuals and families in identifying participant needs through assessment and individual planning. You will work in collaboration with a cohesive multidisciplinary team, administering informal assessments and helping implement Behaviour Support Plans. Your duties will also include attending stakeholder meetings, coordinating with a team of therapists and practitioners, and ensuring that all service agreements and consent forms are managed efficiently. This role demands maintaining up-to-date case files, completing client session notes, and reporting on client progress. You will be instrumental in ensuring the physical, social, and emotional needs of clients are met while adhering to best practices in service policy and delivery. Additionally this role will allow high levels of autonomy with a focus on quality not quantity. You will also play a part in developing this offering including setting KPIs.

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum two year's experience in roles such as Support Coordination, Local Area Coordination, NDIS Planning, Disability Support Worker, Mental Health Worker, or similar.
    • Strong understanding of the NDIS and disability issues in the Australian context.
    • Previous report writing experience and knowledge of the NDIS Price Guide and budget flexibility.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks concurrently and work under pressure.
    • Sensitivity to confidential matters and strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Familiarity with local geographic region providers for NDIS support.
  • Attributes:

    • A great team member with a strong work ethic and respectful communication style.
    • Energetic, positive, and practical, with strong literacy and numeracy skills.
    • Creative problem solver with high accountability and personal responsibility.
