Melbourne Private Hospital are seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manger to join our Neurosciences ward in this permanent full-time or Part time opportunity.

About us- Melbourne Private Hospital

Melbourne Private Hospital is a 124 bed private hospital co-located with the Royal Melbourne Hospital in the heart of Parkville, 1.7km from Melbourne CBD. Our hospital offers highly specialised services including extensive neurosurgery, neurology, advanced coronary care, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgery. These services are supported by a 10-bed intensive care unit, 4-bed acute coronary care unit and 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit.

Our Neurosciences ward is a 30 bed ward including a 6-bed neurosurgical high dependency unit. This ward cares for patients with complex neurological disorders and conditions.

The successful applicant will assist the NUM in providing leadership and support to the unit to ensure a high standard of patient care. The opportunity to join the clinical leadership team will facilitate the development of your managerial skills whilst working in the Associate Nurse Unit Manager role.

We offer a comprehensive orientation program to support your transition into this role.

As a ANUM , your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitate a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement
  • Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.
  • Be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources
  • Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Undertaking direct patient care, as required

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • 2+ years acute Neuroscience nursing
  • Post graduate qualification in relevant field, or willingness to work towards
  • Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable)
  • Sound clinical knowledge
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive role modelling behaviours
  • Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement: Healthscope - Victoria - Nurses and Midwives Agreement 2021 - 2025 (Industrial Agreement). (Salaries ranging from $52.9358-$54.7129 per hour).
