About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in our Forensic Youth Custodial Health unit, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive healthcare to youth in custody. This is a dynamic and rewarding environment where you’ll have the chance to support and care, all while collaborating with a team dedicated to making a difference! This is a voluntary unit.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide nursing care to youth, addressing both physical and mental health needs
• Conduct health assessments and develop individualised care plans
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, and legal staff to ensure coordinated care
• Promote health education and life skills among youth, empowering them to make positive choices
• Document and maintain accurate medical records while adhering to confidentiality standards
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your professional skills

What We’re Looking For:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with AHPRA.
• Experience in mental health, youth health, or forensic nursing is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with young people from diverse background
• Compassionate approach to care
• Willingness to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, as this unit operates 24/7.
