Registered Nurse

About the role
With a wide variety of cases across general surgery this private facility is after a NZ registered surgical nurse with 3-4 years experience to join the team working 36hrs/week across rotating rosters. There is a strong commitment to quality and team work and investment in education with PDRP program on offer providing the continual opportunity to upskill. Please ONLY apply if you have recent and sound NZ surgical ward nursing experience, or that of a similar health care system.

What you have to do

• Ensure the delivery of safe, professional practice that meets acceptable clinical standards through understanding of and compliance with unit policies and protocols
• Work across a multidisciplinary team and patient care from admission to unit to discharge by liaising with specialists, nurses, clerical staff and other health professionals
• Ensure top level of patient care is delivered through effective workload management and teamwork
• Participate in PDRP program and ensure required hours are completed
• Ensure advance level of nursing practice is delivered
• Demonstrate expert knowledge and clinical skills

Skills and Experience

• Must have NZ surgical ward experience with NZ registration
• Have current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Flexibility in surgical skill base and experience across multiple specialities
• Sound clinical expertise in surgical patient care
• Good communication and time management skills
• Able to work well under pressure
• Great team player who is competent at working in a multidisciplinary team
• Good problem solving skills
