Care to join the team?
We are looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to join our close-knit team based within our inner Brisbane city clinic; Auchenflower. You will be part of a small team, providing clinical care, education and support the delivery of an exceptional patient experience by responding to patient needs as part of a multidisciplinary team.
On offer is a full-time, 12-month contract. We are an outpatient clinic and as such are open Monday to Friday so no weekend work!
More specifically, you will:
- Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient’s physical and psychological needs are met.
- Undertake direct patient care including education, wound management and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
- Effectively manage the patients that are seen each day.
- Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, medical oncology staff, patient services, and radiation therapists.
- Provide up to date patient feedback to all staff listed above.
- Ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated and actioned.
- Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
- Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
- Establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR communication tool to all allied health services along with supported documented evidence.
- Demonstrate reliability, motivation and flexibility.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years post graduate experience is preferred.
- Oncology experience is preferred, but not essential. Training in radiotherapy nursing will be provided.
- Exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Wound care management experience desired.
- Ability to use electronic clinical administration systems, as well as MS Office is highly preferred.
- Flexibility to work across both Wesley and Chermside sites
