An exciting opportunity exists for a highly experienced Emergency Medicine Medical Officer to join a regional team- here you will enjoy a fantastic work/life balance residing on the stunning Lakes.   • An attractive remuneration package with a base salary commencing at $164,320 per annum relevant to SMO experience
  • Just over 3hours drive from Melbourne - Beautiful Wilderness Coast - Rugged mountains of the High Country - Vast waterways of the famous Lakes and Mighty rivers
Fixed-Term, 24-month contract, 76.0 hours per fortnight (negotiable).Flexible working options - full-time or part-time hours will be considered.
Emergency Department - currently receives approximately 20,000 varied presentations per year.
  • A range of training opportunities will be supported including FACEM certificate and diploma, ZACCRM Training with Advanced Training Positions in Emergency and RACGP Training

You will provide senior medical support to the Emergency Department (ED) and other areas as required by delivering high-quality and locally appropriate medical care. You will provide leadership and supervision to our Interns, Hospital Medical Officers and Registrars and provide expert input into clinical governance activities. Specialist rural and remote training pathways exist and applicants with these career aspirations will be supported and encouraged to undertake further training.

Key selection criteria:
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor or Surgery (or equivalent)
  • Current of eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA and the Medical Board of Australia
  • At least 10 years of postgraduate experience in clinical medicine, including substantial periods of work in Emergency Medicine
  • Competence in advanced life support techniques, advanced paediatric life support techniques and advanced airway management
  • AMC parts 1 & 2 passed
General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
