RM Graduate Program-February 2027

St Vincent's Health Australia

Purpose Lead. Patient-Centred. The perfect place to launch your RM career!
Launch Your RM career where ambition becomes impact!
Our twelve-month Graduate Midwife Program is built around helping you become a confident, autonomous midwife, not just competent, but genuinely ready to lead care and make decisions that matter.
Our dedicated midwifery education team has developed a clinical support framework designed specifically for that transition, with the structure and mentorship that new graduates actually need.
We also offer, subject to available positions, a combined RN/RM placement consisting of 7 months in maternity rotations of birthsuite, postnatal and special care nursery, and 5 months in an acute ward placement.

What your year will look like
You'll rotate through the full scope of midwifery practice at our Fitzroy maternity unit covering antenatal and postnatal care, special care nursery, birth suite, and elective caesarean theatre lists. It's the kind of breadth that builds real clinical range.
Behind you at every step is a team of experienced midwives, clinicians and educators committed to your growth. We are a workplace grounded in collaboration, and a shared belief that when our midwives thrive, our families do too.

Be a part of something larger
We're values-led in practice. That means respectful relationships, genuine investment in your development, and a culture where your voice is heard from day one.

Who we're looking for
RMs who are ready to grow fast, embrace challenge, and become the kind of clinician that patients and colleagues rely on. If you're ready to become the midwife you've always wanted to be, we'd love to meet you.
This program is open to candidates who have completed a Bachelor of Midwifery or double/dual Midwifery/Nursing Degree or Graduate Diploma of Midwifery
You must be eligible to gain registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA (www.ahpra.com.au) and be available to commence the program in February 2027.
