Exciting, unique opportunity to step into a leadership role within a dynamic, patient-focused environment. As the Senior Medical Receptionist, you'll join our dedicated Oncology team at Flinders Private Hospital in South Australia.

More specifically, you will:

  • Provide direction, supervision, support and recognition of staff activities and promote collaboration, cooperation and teamwork through effective leadership and management strategies.
  • Provide support, initiate and drive change strategies across the practice through the provision of data and leadership which supports both the vision and ethos for GenesisCare and the development of patient focussed change strategies, programs and initiatives.
  • Be a champion for high level of patient services by meeting patient needs, maintaining patient service levels and monitoring and reacting to patient feedback.
  • Gain a clear understanding of the funding mechanisms related to Radiation Oncology billings, Medicare and the Medicare Safety Net. Being able to clearly communicate the funding mechanisms, out of pocket fees and other account related enquiries.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and promote and support initiatives designed to improve clerical staff engagement.
  • Display a strong commitment to developing others through implementing effective performance management and development processes and providing staff with ongoing feedback and performance coaching.

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

  • Demonstrate experience in managing and leading a team.
  • Show demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a healthcare environment.
  • Have strong experience in medical administration and reception management.
  • Show great management and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with and effectively influence staff & patients.
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of and ability to provide excellent leadership in line with the organisation’s values.
  • Have a collaborative and flexible approach to delivering exceptional patient centred services.
  • Show a willingness and ability to proactively implement continuous improvement and change initiatives.
  • Are able to effectively and collaboratively solve problems as they arise.
  • Possess High level Medical accounts processing skills including knowledge of Medicare, DVA and private health funds.
  • Have the ability to use clinical administration systems, as well as Microsoft Office software for data analysis and reporting purposes.
