About the Role
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Grade 1 Sleep Technologist to join the St Vincent’s Hospital Sleep Centre (Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine) team on a part time permanent basis. It is essential for the Grade 1 Sleep Technologist to work evening and overnight shifts. The Grade 1 Sleep Technologist will be responsible for providing high quality clinical service within the inpatient sleep laboratory for patients with sleep disorders.

Duties

  • Responsible for the setup of equipment and patients for the recording of physiological variables during sleep
  • Responsible for the recording of physiological variables during patients sleep including the implementation and titration of therapies
  • Liaise and communicate with other team members and senior scientist
  • Participate in monthly Sleep Centre staff meetings and in-service training
  • Ensure local and organisational policies are adhered to at all times.

Classifications for this position will range from Scientist Grade 1 RX1 – RX7 ($61,204 - $88,223 per annum, pro rata for part time).

Your Contribution

  • Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science is essential
  • Previous experience in a customer/ patient focused environment is desirable
  • Ability to work evening and overnight shifts
  • Previous experience within a Sleep Laboratory (desirable)
  • Current national criminal history check, or willing to obtain

St Vincent’s Hospital Sleep Centre
St Vincent’s Hospital Sleep Centre (Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine) is a multidisciplinary Sleep Service providing inpatient and outpatient services to patients from metropolitan and regional Victoria. Services includes full polysomnography, home based testing, CPAP clinic, outpatient clinic, patient liaison and sleep psychologist clinic. Inpatient testing services are made up of a core three bed facility which provides full polysomnography for the investigation of sleep and sleep related respiratory disorders.
