Client Description

• 27-bed acute hospital which offers several specialty inpatient and outpatient services. The facility has a newly refurbished Emergency Department which provides care to a wide variety of conditions from acute trauma management to acute care of medical conditions. Bowen ED is a level two facility under the current Clinical Services capability Framework. Patients requiring ongoing care in a tertiary facility are stabilised and transferred.

Mandatory Experience

• Accredited Sonographer with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
• Sonographer capable of working independently in a small team without an onsite Radiologist. Radiologist available by phone off site only.
• Proficiency in obstetrics, general, paediatrics, small parts and some vascular examinations. MSK is also desirable if possible.
• Do not need to be dual qualified. Sonographer is the primary role.

Desirable Experience

• Hospital experience
• Knowledge of Qdoc and Impax.
• Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using this system
• Previous experience working in QLD Health and/or Mackay HHS or public hospital system.

Mandatory Competencies

• QLD Radiation Licence (for qualified Radiographer)
• Basic life support
• Manual and patient handling
• Infection control including hand hygiene
• Occupational Violence Prevention Training incorporating de-escalation skills, situational awareness, and maintaining personal safety
• Mandatory reporting of reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect

Additionally, the candidate must agree to undertake any of the following as required by our HHS:

• Integrated electronic medical record training
• Online induction training
