Coastal Queensland | Permanent part-time | 60 hours per fortnight
Salary: $6,416$8,133 per fortnight
FRACP essential

Build a rewarding specialist career where tropical beaches, rainforest adventures and relaxed coastal living are part of everyday life.

An opportunity is available for a Gastroenterologist to join a contemporary regional referral hospital within an expanding health service. Work alongside a supportive physician team, with specialist nursing and registrar support, while enjoying the flexibility of a permanent part-time appointment.

Make the most of life outside work
Swap the metropolitan rush for a vibrant coastal community offering beautiful beaches, lush rainforest and wide-open spaces. Spend your weekends exploring the coast, enjoying local cafs and restaurants, or taking part in sporting clubs, festivals and the arts.

With quality schools, excellent community facilities and a culturally diverse population, the region offers an appealing setting for families and doctors seeking a change of pace. Choose a coastal or country lifestyle while maintaining a fulfilling specialist career.

The role

Deliver specialist inpatient and outpatient care across gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders, with a particular focus on clinic-based management of inflammatory bowel disease.

Your work will include:
  • Regular upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy lists.
  • Specialist consultations and multidisciplinary management.
  • Contributions to acute medical care and elective outpatient services.
  • Teaching and supervision of physician trainees and medical students.
  • Clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and service development.

A supportive clinical environment
Join a multidisciplinary team of 18 FTE physicians across a broad range of medical subspecialties. The department supports RACP-accredited Basic Physician Training and Advanced Training in General Medicine.
You will also have access to cardiology services providing 24/7 primary PCI, alongside specialist-led Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care teams.

Contribute your expertise within a supportive department, with opportunities to participate in teaching, collaborative care and service development.

About you
You must hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and bring specialist gastroenterology expertise, proficiency in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, and a commitment to patient-centred care, collaborative practice and teaching.
