About the Role
Two exciting fixed-term opportunities are available for experienced Speech Pathologists to join our Community Rehabilitation team at St George’s Hospital, Kew. Both positions are parental leave backfill opportunities.
Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, person-centred and goal-oriented speech pathology services across home and centre-based community rehabilitation settings. You will manage a varied caseload of adults with communication and swallowing disorders, working collaboratively with clients, families, multidisciplinary colleagues and community providers to support meaningful rehabilitation outcome.
Position 1 – Speech Pathologist, Grade 2 or Grade 3
- St George’s Hospital, Kew
- Fixed Term / Part-time – 30.4 hours per week
- 7 December 2026 to 23 March 2027

Position 2 – Speech Pathologist, Grade 2
- St George’s Hospital, Kew
- Fixed Term / Part-time – 19 hours per week
- 26 October 2026 to 30 April 2027

Please note that, as these positions are parental leave backfills, the fixed-term arrangements may be subject to change should the substantive employees return from parental leave earlier than anticipated. Classification: Speech Pathologist Grade 2 - 3
Salary: $90,000 –$118,000 per annum (pro rata, for part time)
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, client-focused speech pathology assessment and intervention in accordance with HIP and SVHM policies, procedures and relevant rehabilitation protocols.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, referring clinicians, community professionals and other key stakeholders.

About Health Independence Programs
This position sits within the Health Independence Program (HIP), which aims to improve outcomes for clients while supporting hospital demand management and patient flow. HIP provides integrated and coordinated care across the hospital and community interface, reducing duplication and fragmentation of services while supporting person-centred care planning. SVHM HIP operates across several locations, including Fitzroy, Kew, North Richmond and Fairfield, and is delivered in partnership with North Richmond Community Health (NRCH). This position will work across the Community Rehabilitation Centre (CRC) and Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH) teams, with services currently delivered from Kew and Fairfield. Depending on patient demand, you may also be required to work across other HIP hub sites or programs, taking into consideration your skills and training. Community Rehabilitation supports people recovering from traumatic injury or illness, as well as people who are frail or living with chronic conditions, to regain optimal function and maximise their independence.
