Allied Health, which represents twelve professions, is a rapidly expanding and highly integrated service at Cabrini. The department plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the organisation.

The Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Speech Pathologist to join the Cabrini Speech Pathology team in a permanent full-time position based at Cabrini Malvern.
Working within our acute care team, you will provide high-quality assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population. This role requires a flexible clinician with broad acute care experience and a strong commitment to delivering evidence-based practice across the continuum of care.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care. You will contribute to maintaining excellence in clinical practice, service quality, patient outcomes and staff engagement, while supporting Cabrini’s commitment to exceptional patient care.
Key responsibilities:
- Assessment and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders for a range of aetiologies in acute hospital setting
- Demonstrates current clinical knowledge of research, new developments and evidence-based practice in specific discipline.
- Compliance with our Triage policy in response time to referrals.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings, including the identification of achievements, relevant issues and unmet needs.
- Participates in professional development programs.
- Involved in student education and training, staff supervision
About you
Along with your passion for speech pathology, you will require the following attributes:
- Membership/Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Well consolidated post-graduate experience in the acute healthcare setting (min 2 years)
- Experience in the assessment and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders for a range of aetiologies
- Demonstrated ability to consult and collaborate with others and work as an effective member of a team
- Excellent time management skills and high degree of flexibility
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, which include excellent communication skills
- Commitment to continuing professional development and clinical research
- Demonstrated ability to enhance the patient and family experience at Cabrini
