We are opening a state-of-the-art Eye Laser Clinic in Melbourne in late November – December, and we are looking for a qualified, experienced Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD) Technician to join our founding team!

The Role & Hours
This is a Part-Time position offering 19 hours per week, rostered Monday to Friday. You will play a critical role in setting up, running, and maintaining our instrument reprocessing operations to support high-volume, precision ophthalmic and laser procedure workflows.
Remuneration & Benefits
Salary: Equivalent to $90,000 FTE + Superannuation
Hourly Rate: $45.55 per hour + Super (calculated on a standard 38-hour full-time base)
Schedule: Part-Time (19 hours/week)
Days: Monday to Friday (Day shifts, no weekends or night shifts)

Key Responsibilities
Decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilisation of ophthalmic and laser surgical instrumentation in strict compliance with AS/NZS 4187 standards.
Operating, monitoring, and maintaining sterilising equipment, including autoclaves and diagnostic tracking systems.
Maintaining precise documentation, batch monitoring, and quality control logs.
Managing sterile stock levels, inventory control, and timely instrument turnaround for clinic procedures.
Assisting in establishing unit workflows and protocols as part of our opening launch team.
About You
Required:
Qualifications: Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent relevant qualification.
Experience: Proven experience working as a CSSD Technician, preferably with exposure to ophthalmic / fine surgical instrumentation.
Standards Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of current Australian infection control standards (AS/NZS 4187).
High attention to detail, precision, and commitment to patient safety.
Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset to thrive in a brand-new clinic environment.
