Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals? This is your chance to join our education team, coordinating and elevating the undergraduate student placement experience across all health disciplines.
This new senior nursing role (Grade 4B Registered Nurse) is a permanent position working 30 hours per week, supporting our four acute sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Werribee and Kew.
What you'll be doing (the exciting stuff!)
- Oversee and coordinate the end-to-end undergraduate student placement experience across a variety of health disciplines and SVPHM acute care sites
- Lead academic partnership development alongside the Education Manager, expanding relationships with universities and TAFEs
- Coordinate and support Clinical Teachers across all sites to ensure consistent, high-quality clinical supervision and assessment
- Identify learning gaps and support students at risk in collaboration with Clinical Teachers, university partners and the Education Manager
- Be innovative in design and delivery of student-specific education programs, including orientation, professional practice and clinical skills education
- Strengthen SVPHM's workforce pipeline by supporting conversion of high-performing students into graduate and ongoing roles by working closely with the Education Manager and Graduate Nurse and Midwifery Coordinators
- Maintain a visible and active presence across all SVPHM acute care sites to support students and Clinical Teachers
What we’re looking for (are you our perfect match?)
Essential:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum five years' post-graduate clinical nursing experience
- Demonstrated experience in an education, preceptoring, clinical facilitation or coordination role
- Broad clinical experience across multiple clinical areas
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including academics, clinical staff and students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organisational skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with learning management systems
- High level of integrity, honesty and commitment
- Passion for education and mentoring excellence
- Ability to work flexibly across all four sites
Desirable
- Experience managing or coordinating student clinical placements across multiple disciplines or sites
- Existing relationships with university clinical placement or academic partnership teams
- Post-graduate qualifications in nursing or clinical education
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or working towards)
