An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join the team preparing for the opening of the new Regional Hospital in 2027.
This is a rare opportunity to help establish and shape contemporary womens health services within a purpose-built hospital, while enjoying an exceptional coastal lifestyle.

Location and lifestyle

Moruya is located:

• Approximately two hours from Canberra
• Under four hours drive from Sydney
• Close to the Coast

The hospital
Currently under construction the Hospital will deliver state-of-the-art facilities and expanded clinical services to communities.
The new hospital is designed to accommodate future growth, it will provide a modern environment in which clinicians can influence service development, clinical pathways and models of care from the outset.

The role
As a VMO/Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will provide comprehensive specialist care across obstetrics, maternity services and a broad range of gynaecological presentations.
You will:

• Manage routine and complex obstetric and gynaecological presentations
• Work independently in managing complex and emergency cases appropriate to the services role delineation
• Collaborate with medical, midwifery, nursing, allied health and support teams
• Contribute to the development of safe, contemporary clinical pathways and models of care
• Provide clinical leadership to junior doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team
• Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision and professional development
• Support clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives
• Work collaboratively across services and hospital sites within the Local Health District

Essential requirements
Applicants must have:

• Specialist registration, or eligibility for specialist registration, with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA
• FRANZCOG or an equivalent specialist qualification and recognition
• Recent clinical practice and demonstrated expertise across obstetrics and gynaecology
• The ability to work independently and manage complex emergencies appropriate to the service
• Evidence of continuing professional development, clinical audit and quality-improvement participation
• Experience teaching and supervising junior medical staff, trainees and students
• Strong communication, teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration skills

Specialist International Medical Graduates with an appropriate RANZCOG comparability outcome, or those who may be eligible for specialist recognition in Australia, are encouraged to enquire.
